Winsome Star – Race 2 – 12:35 pm – Dylan Dunn
Progressive and building this preparation nicely, He was solid to the line when finishing 4th of 10 at Sandown-Lakeside over 1200m on March 25, sticking on gamely in testing conditions against strong BM70 company. The run prior, he competed well in the Echuca Cup over 1400m, finishing within two lengths of the winner in a competitive field. With fitness on his side and consistent efforts against quality opposition, he looks well placed to be very competitive heading into his next assignment here.
Il Patrigno – Race 4 – 1:45 pm – Dylan Dunn
Knocking on the door with encouraging recent performances, he was solid to the line last start when finishing 5th of 13 at Ballarat over 1400m, sticking on well after racing on speed. The run prior was particularly eye-catching, producing a strong effort to finish a close 2nd at Sandown-Hillside over 1300m, beaten only a neck after a determined performance. With that form under his belt and continued improvement from this preparation, he shapes as a genuine contender in the right race.
Morphettville Runners
Lady Thinkabell – Race 1 – 12:13 pm (Melbourne Time) – Daniel Stackhouse
Building nicely into her preparation, she was far from disgraced last start when finishing 5th in the Ballarat Country Oaks over 2000m, holding her own in a stronger staying contest. Her run prior was full of merit, charging home from the tail to finish a close 3rd at Sandown-Lakeside over 2100m, making up significant ground in the concluding stages. With her proven ability at the trip and a strong finishing profile, she looks ideally placed to be highly competitive in the right race.
McWoody – Race 5 – 2:32 pm (Melbourne Time) – Daniel Stackhouse
Third-up and building this preparation beautifully, he returned with a solid effort when finishing 5th at Sandown-Hillside over 1500m, working home well in testing conditions. He took a strong step forward last start, breaking through for a deserved win at Sandown-Lakeside over 1600m, showing determination to score by half a length. With that confidence-boosting victory under his belt and further improvement to come, he profiles as a key contender again.
